What the Grant Supported
The Big Ideas grant supported the Maghrib Prayer & Iftar Gathering held in February 2026, bringing together around 80 students for congregational prayer, a catered iftar meal and informal community engagement. The funding enabled the event to remain free for University of Glasgow students (with only £2 charitable contribution), ensuring accessibility while fostering wellbeing, inclusivity, and community connection during Ramadan.

- Booked rooms through the SRC Events team and maintained regular communications with SRC staff throughout the planning process.
- SRC staff booked extra room with Central Timetabling for prayer space.
- Met with the Clubs & Societies Engagement Coordinator, who provided guidance and support in delivering the event.
