Clubs & Socs Success Stories

  • African Caribbean Society A group of students learning to braid and make cornrows on dolls in the Bridie Library of the Glasgow University Union, as part of the African Caribbean Society's braiding workshop. Club grant awarded to cover trainers and materials for a braiding and cornrows workshop.
  • BrightHer Candles made from the event in a box (right), someone working on the candle making (left). Club Grant awarded for candle-making materials and equipment needed for a 16 Days of Activism and collab sessions.
  • Cecilian Society Big Ideas Grant to support the production of Carrie: The Musical by the Cecilian Society Big Ideas Grant to support the production of Carrie: The Musical by the Cecilian Society
  • Challenge For Change Member of Challenge for Change speaking into a microphone at their gala. Received Big Ideas grants over two years to subsidise UofG student ticket prices for the annual Charity Fundraising Gala.

  • Medical Research Society Students gathered outside in front of banner from the Medical Research Society as they hosted the 14th National Undergraduate Research Conference. Big Ideas grant supported the 14th National Undergraduate Research Conference by subsidising student tickets and workshop costs.
  • Muslim Students' Association Students serving good at Muslim Students' Association Iftar meal during Ramadan. Big Ideas grant to support the Muslim Students' Association in hosting an Iftar meal during Ramadan.
  • Nigerian Students' Society Students with the Nigerian flag at their Green and White Cultural Mixer. Bigs Ideas grant to support society’s first Green and White Cultural Mixer during BHM.
