Cliodhna Shields (She/Her)
My name is Cliodhna (she/her) and I am an English Literature and Philosophy student. In the past two years I have been a Welcome Helper with the SRC, and I have seen first-hand how important this union is for students. In my fourth and final year I would love the opportunity to be a part of this council and to do something positive for the school of Critical Studies, both for the students and staff.
Through the council and the role of representative, I would like to amplify the voices of our class representatives. I believe that a more structured feedback form could encourage fellow students to address more concerns to their class representatives, allowing for more digital and in-person comments to be recorded and heard by the department.
I would also push for timely and detailed feedback to be given to students in Critical Studies courses. The current marking style would be addressed, and there would hopefully be a change in the volume of feedback required for essay-style assignments. I would love the opportunity to be this schools representative and to work with you all this year!
