I’m Sree Damireddy, a 2nd year Robotics & AI student. Having served as a class rep previously and now currently holding the position of President of the Engineering Society, I am confident that I have the experience to navigate university committees and push for practical changes that actually improve our day-to-day student experience.
If elected, I will deliver on three achievable priorities:
- Assessment Scheduling
It’s no secret that we’re often left with clusters of deadlines, especially around weeks 9-11. I want to cross-reference assessment calendars across modules and spread major deadlines out by 3-5 working days.
- Diversify Career Opportunities
Considering the undeniable student demand for divestment, I would like this to be reflected in the School’s approach to careers and final year opportunities. I want the school to broaden JWSE career fairs beyond traditional defence contractors by actively inviting clean-tech, medtech and robotics firms while ensuring ethical, non-defence final-year project choices.
- Feedback Accountability
The university’s 15-working-day feedback policy needs strict reinforcement and mid-semester module reviews need to be taken more seriously so that teaching and marking issues are resolved sooner, not after final exams.

Previous Reps have worked hard to make our voices heard. I don't see this as starting from scratch; I want to continue that legacy, learn and bring up a fresh set of eyes to what may have been overlooked.
- REPRESENT
As a first-year Mechatronics student, I'm new enough to question the things we sometimes learn to simply work-around. I aim to collaborate with ClassReps across every programme and year, creating an anonymous safe space.
- ACT
I'll attend every meeting (yes Amy Santiago style), bring your points directly to the table, and push for resolutions on issues faced not just by many but also one. Well… what's a meeting without a little Scully? I'll bring back the free stuff…if I find any.
- INCLUDE
Having experienced the unfamiliarity of navigating a new university myself, I want to make things clearer for everyone, particularly international-students, and ensure concerns reach the right service and don't fall through the cracks.

Experiencing engineering from different perspectives - as a student representative, a society committee member and engineering competition team member - has shown me both the opportunities our University offers and the importance of having students look out for each other. We are all in the same boat.
As a previous Student Representative, I was able to work directly with lecturers to raise concerns, successfully pushing for the removal of joint examinations that placed unnecessary pressure on students. Seeing this success has motivated me to want to do more.
Engineering Skills Week brings disciplines together but it has a lot more potential. Instead of concepts that rarely leave the whiteboard, I would push for a more collaborative project, with mentoring and links to university engineering societies.
Simple library etiquette - PCs left unplugged, bags left at desks for hours and cables missing - derails students' valuable study time. A simple poster campaign on this would go a long way.
Support exists, but after gaining the courage to reach out, finding that help should not be tedious. I would push for clearer promotion of available support so the process isn't buried in online steps.
