Hi everyone!✨
My name is Jessica Ewhimonih. I am a Common Law student and I’m running for the School of Law representative position. Asides studying I work as a Peer Career Supporter, volunteer with societies such as GU Rocketry, and sing in choirs. Being a fourth-year law student, I’ve spent three years going through the same experiences you all face and understand the sheer stress of being in the thick of it.
Hence, my aim for running for law rep is to make some significant positive changes to our learning experience whilst seeing it as an opportunity to give back to the amazing community of students that have supported my journey thus far.
Some of my aims are:
- To advocate for longer law workshop hours
- To encourage lecturers to provide clearer expectations for assessments and essays.
- To ensure all law students have equal and sufficient academic and employability opportunities.
- To find more ways to bridge the relationships between staff and students. For example, through student-staff groups. I want students to feel comfortable approaching their lecturers for support and clarity.
