2025-2026 SRC Club Grant Application is Open!

What is SRC Club Grant Funding?

The SRC Club Grant Funding supports student-led activities and resources that help build community on campus.

We aim to fund club initiatives that:

  • πŸ” Support innovative ways to engage more members
  • 🌍 Empower societies to reach a diverse student population
  • β™Ώ Prioritise accessibility, community, and inclusion

βœ…Who Can Apply?

To be eligible to apply and claim a grant, your club or society must:

  • Be affiliated with the SRC
  • Make sure two currently-listed office bearers attend a SRC Society 101 Training within the 2025-26 academic year.
    • πŸ“Œ Please note: If your club is unable to attend before applying for a grant, please contact
      clubsandsocs@src.gla.ac.uk as soon as possible.

Maximum grant request: £500
Clubs and societies can only apply for and claim up to £500 per academic year from Clubs grant funding. Need more than that? Check out the Big Ideas Grant Fund for larger-scale projects.

πŸ“How to Apply

To apply for an SRC Club grant, here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Complete the online application form (log in to view the form on this page)
πŸ“Œ Please note: Your application must be completed by a currently-listed office bearer (generally treasurer)

  2. Submit your application with:
    • A clear description of what you’re applying for
    • An explanation of how many members will benefit and how they will benefit

πŸ“Œ Please note: Review of your application will include viewing your current membership logged on the SRC website. If the amount of listed members to benefit on your application is more than those signed up on the website, your application will be queried.

    • An explanation of how it will promote community and inclusion
    • A cost breakdown of what you’re applying for (preferably Excel spreadsheet)
    • If it’s funding for an event, information should be included as to how your society is using the SRC website to promote and ticket the event via your club webpage. Please contact us at clubs@src.gla.ac.uk if you have queries about an event listing or ticket options available.

πŸ“Œ Please note: We strongly encourage you to use the SRC website for any ticketed event as you get the full value of the ticket. If your society does not use the SRC website for tickets, you will need to explain why you made that choice. This may impact the success of your application.

    • A bank statement (dated within the last 2 months) or proof of account opening.
    • If your society uses the SRC Holding Account (agreed beforehand with the SRC), no bank statement is required.

3. Don’t have a bank account? We may still be able to help—get in touch!

πŸ“Œ Please note: We do not release funds to personal accounts.

πŸ”What We Look for in an Application & the Grant Review Process

The Clubs & Societies Committee reviews applications based on:

  • The quality and impact of your proposal
  • How well it supports diversity, inclusion, and community building
  • The number of members who will benefit from funding
  • Members being signed up on the SRC website, as well as use of the website to promote the event/ticketing.
  • Your society’s ability to manage finances
  • How your event or project aligns with SRC’s strategic goals
  • Availability of other funding sources (e.g., additional University and external funding)
  • The current Clubs and Societies grant budget

The Clubs & Societies Committee will consider:

  • Grant applications usually every two weeks during term time.
  • Each application on its own merits and based on need.

In some cases, the Committee may request a short meeting with up to two office bearers to discuss your application. You’ll be contacted by email if this is needed.

🚫 What We Don’t Fund

The SRC does not provide grant funding for:

  • Society balls
  • Gifts for speakers
  • Raffle/tombola/competition prizes
  • Non-essential club branded clothing
  • Fundraising events
  • Bar deposits
