Molly Corbett (she/her)

Hello, My name is Molly (she/her), I am a 4th year Law Student, and I am running to be your next SRC President.

My two years on Council as General Representative and Charities Officer gives me the experience and understanding of the SRC necessary to drive effective change. This year, I have led Raising and Giving Society hosting collaborative events with a number of student societies demonstrating my leadership ability across campus.

Moll’s Polls

  • Divestment: Pressure the university to adopt a policy of divesting entirely from the arms industry. In the meantime, highlight existing arms investments in the portfolio urging the university to divest from individual companies without delay.

  • Student Voices: Push back against a national crackdown on student rights to free speech and protest on campus. Encourage the university to sign the Defend Dissent Charter. Add a student campaigns guide to the SRC advice centre.

  • Assessment, Grading and Extenuating Circumstances: Demand the university adopts clearer communications to staff and students on the rollout of extenuating circumstances. Ensure the university fulfils its commitment to implement the Quality Assurance Agency’s Targeted Peer Review recommendations enabling transparency and consistency in assessment and grading practices

  • Students seeking sanctuary: Expand scholarships for students seeking sanctuary by diversifying the number of organisations that the university accepts funding from. Ensure scholarships provided include opportunities for undergraduate students.

  • Tackling Gender Based Violence (GBV): Encourage the university to go beyond existing pledges to join the EmilyTest community by also signing up to the Emily Test Charter. Supporting survivors of GBV cannot be delayed. Better promote existing resources to support those affected.

  • International Students: Lobby Holyrood to reconsider proposals for a Scottish Graduate Visa to extend the length of graduate visas. Consider alternatives to SafeZone in meeting UKVI compliance requirements to improve international student experience.

  • LGBTQIA+: Advocate for the creation of new gender neutral spaces on campus. Establish a Gender Expression Fund to support students purchasing gender affirming products.

  • Sustainability: Engage with the GetGlasgowMoving and BetterBusesforStrathclyde campaigns to improve sustainable and affordable transport in Glasgow.

  • Accessibility: Work to establish a centralised space and notification system for accessibility updates on campus. Support the creation of and signposting to sensory spaces on campus.

  • Housing: Publicise improvements made under the Housing Act 2025 ensuring all students are aware of their tenancy rights.

  • Improving Visibility: Improve visibility of the Sabbatical team and its connection to the student body. Office Hours, drop ins, new communication channels

  • Improving Representation: Improve the SRC’s representation of mature students by liaising with the Mature Student Association. Pressure the university to establish an Age Equality Group

  • Cross Campus: Work collaboratively with the Execs of other Unions to achieve a more united cross campus

  • Inter-Campus: Improve interconnectivity between Garscube and Gilmorehill campuses. Improve correspondence with Glasgow’s Transnational Education providers to improve student experience and wellbeing on these campuses

If elected, I am ready to listen to and advocate for all students. Here with experience, energy and enthusiasm - this 4th and 5th of March #BetonCorBETt
