Getting involved with the BTO in Scotland - helping birds and building valuable experience by Steve Willis: 6:30pm - 8pm; Graham Kerr Zoology Museum; Join us in the Graham Kerr building on Wednesday the 14th of January at 18:30 when Steve Willis from the British Trust for Ornithology will explain the positive impacts of biodiversity volunteering and how you can get involved!

Sample a curated selection of diverse whiskies, learn the basics of tasting, and explore the rich history and flavours of this beloved spirit.

Filmmaking Society - GU Filmmaking's 7th Biannual Premiere: 6pm - 2am; Oran Mor; It is time for the GU Filmmaking 7th Biannual Premiere! We have worked hard this semester to create 7 must-see short films, so join us while we watch, chat, dance and celebrate everyone who helped make this happen.

Accounting Society - The Burns Ball: 6:30pm - 1am; 1-9 Grosvenor Terrace, Glasgow G12 0TB; It’s official, The Burns Ball is on the 22rd January 2026. Wear your best black tie attire and enjoy your bubbly at the door, followed by a 3-course meal, raffle, ceilidh, Photo Booth, and more!

G-Gnomes - STEM Ceilidh: 7:30pm - 11:59pm; Glasgow University Union Debates Chamber; Join G-Gnomes, Zoological Society, Marine Science Society, Bird Society, and Women in STEM for our second annual collaborative ceilidh! A portion of the proceeds will be going to charity.

Anaesthetics and Critical Care Society - 13th National Undergraduate and Critical Care Conference: 24th January 9am - 25th January 3pm; James McCune Smith (JMS) Learning Hub; Glasgow University Anaesthetics and Critical Care Society is hosting their flagship conference on January 24th and January 25th! Tickets are planned to be released on January 5th. A call for abstracts has gone out, timetable coming soon!

Jewish Society - Scotland-Wide JSoc Winter Ball!: 7pm - 2am; Location will be sent to ticket holders closer to the time of the event!; Join us and all of the Scottish JSocs for a Winter Ball! Your ticket will consist of a meal, a Havdallah Ceremony a lot of dancing and your first drink on us! Additionally, £5 from each ticket will be going to a charity yet to be decided on!

Maclaurin Society - Macsoc Ceilidh 2026!: 7pm - 10pm; Glasgow University Union, Dining Hall; Join us for our annual Ceilidh at the GUU on Thursday 29th January! With a local ceilidh band and a cheap bar - lots of fun is sure to be had! Tickets are £7 for members and £9 for non-members and tickets purchased on the door.
