  • Academic Appeals You can appeal against various decisions that affect your study if you believe you have grounds for appeal.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Plagiarism It’s important that you are aware of the University’s rules on appropriate use of AI. Failure to follow these rules can result in accusations of plagiarism which can have serious consequences for your academic progress or your ability to graduate.
  • Essay Writing Services There are an extensive range of writing companies who offer to draft work on students' behalf. Here, we explain why it is problematic to engage their services.
  • Exams Worried about preparing for your exams? What items are not allowed in exams? What if you are ill? Here are a few pointers.
  • Fitness to Practise If you receive a referral under the University's Fitness to Practise procedure, the SRC can give help and advice.
  • Good Cause If you’ve been ill, or had other personal circumstances affecting your performance in an exam or assignment, then you may need Good Cause.
  • Grades & Feedback Unhappy with a grade you’ve been given? Unhelpful feedback? Here are some ideas for what you can do.
  • Group Work Tips for getting the most out of group work on your course.
  • Guide to Effective Complaining Are you unhappy with some aspect of your course? Has the University failed to follow its procedures? Or has a staff member behaved inappropriately?
  • Jury Service If you have received a summons for jury service, but are struggling to spare the time because of coursework, you may be able to be excused.
  • Late Submission of Coursework If life has conspired against you to prevent you from meeting an essay deadline don’t despair.
  • Plagiarism Plagiarism is something the University takes very seriously. It's important that you know what it is and what might happen if you are accused of it.
  • Progress After the Re-sits If you’ve just received your re-sit results and haven’t done as well as you’d hoped don’t lose all faith just yet!
  • Student Conduct Procedures Read this page if you have allegedly breached the University regulations in some way and student conduct procedures against you have begun.
  • Student Support Policies Expecting a baby or have caring responsibilities, and wondering how you will manage your studies as well?
  • Withdrawing from study Before moving forwards with a full withdrawal from study, you should be fully aware of alternatives and the impact a withdrawal may have.
