Somaria Maharaj

As your school representative, I want to continue representing your interests and advocate for a stronger, more supportive community. My focus will be on fostering greater connection and collaboration within our school.

I plan to achieve this by working to establish dedicated areas where students from all year groups can connect. For example, regular social events, peer-led study groups, and a mentorship program. I'll support class reps in developing stronger relationships within their cohorts and empower them to create initiatives specifically tailored to their needs. Furthermore, to help establish communication and collaboration between Neuroscience and Psychology students. This will provide access to a wider range of materials, enriching everyone's understanding of their respective fields. By holding joint workspaces this increases student resources and helps to deepen knowledge and network connections. Finally, I'll support students in refining their skills throughout their academic journey, preparing them for successful transitions into the job market or further studies.

By working collaboratively with students and staff, we can create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Together, we will ensure that the School of Psychology and Neuroscience provides a rewarding and supportive experience that helps students succeed both academically and personally.
