As your International Students Officer, I bring firsthand experience and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by international students. Having worked as an International Welcome Team Assistant, I've been immersed in the day-to-day realities of transitioning to life in the UK and navigating the academic landscape in Glasgow.
From fielding inquiries to organizing campus tours and activities, I've witnessed the diverse needs of our international student community. This experience enhanced my ability to empathize with your concerns and advocate for meaningful solutions.
My journey as an international student culminated in the honour of representing our university at UKCISA Fest. Engaging with fellow representatives and policymakers, I contributed to discussions shaping the future of international education in the UK. This experience reinforced my commitment to amplifying everyone’s voices (not only the loud ones) and driving positive change.
As your representative, I will leverage my experiences and insights to defend policies and initiatives that promote inclusivity and support for all. From advocating for support services to fostering cross-cultural exchange, I am dedicated to ensuring that every international student feels valued and supported throughout their university journey.
