CJ Adebayo Omoaka
Hi, I’m CJ Adebayo Omoaka, a first year music and art undergrad. As as first year student, everything is new to me. From seminars to lectures and unions to societies I am experiencing it all for the first time, this means I am entering the university and this election with a set of truly fresh eyes. As a home student I’m entering the university with the eyes of someone who’s vicinity has always been surrounded by it, whether that be trips to the Hunterian Art Gallery or participating in the REACH program. If I was to be elected my main goals would be to better the relationship between the university and home students through events and activities. I also would like to build on the goal of bettering the home student experience. I would achieve this through more opportunities for home students to give input on the issues that they face, whether that be commuting, feelings of disconnect and isolation or any other raised issue. According to the universities website, home students make up 54% of the student body. That is over half of the student population. I aim to make thisuniversity to feel like home to home students.
