Úna Dale

Hello! My name is Úna Dale (she/her), I am a third-year English Literature student and I hoping to become your student representative for the School of Critical Studies.

I am keen to make students’ concerns heard and would like to make a concentrated effort to encourage and improve the class rep system. I would also like to work on making Critical Studies a more collaborative and community-based space. I’d aim to enable better relationships between subjects and year groups by working with academic societies and investigating the possibility of a Critical Studies study space. I believe that an improved communications system could alleviate some of the anxieties that accompany enrolment, assessments and subject choices.

I was previously an SRC Fresher’s Helper, and am the current Secretary for the GU Amnesty International Society. Through these roles, I’ve gained invaluable experience in how the Student Representative Council works and how to constructively work with staff and students, in order to organise events and encourage student engagement. I believe my involvement in these groups has prepared me to effectively represent Critical Studies students!

Thank you for reading my manifesto and I hope you’ll vote for me when the polls open!
