Rola Ekladyous

Hello! My name is Rola Ekladyous, and I’m running for the position of Business School Representative. As a Business and Management 3rd year student, I understand the importance of having a strong, unified voice representing the needs and concerns of students at different levels

As a former Class Representative during my foundation year, I have firsthand experience in addressing student concerns and working with staff to bring positive change. This role gave me the skills I need to effectively communicate and advocate for my peers, which I now wish to apply on a larger scale as the Business School Representative.

My goal is to ensure that every student in the business school feels heard, particularly when it comes to gaining academic support, course resources, and overall student welfare. By fostering strong relationships with Class Representatives, I will ensure that student concerns are raised and addressed in Council meetings and to the College Convenor. I aim to ensure that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed and reach their full potential.

Rowan Howe

Hi everyone! I’m excited to be running for School Rep for the Adam Smith Business School. My ultimate goal is to make sure every student’s voice is heard and that we all have the best possible experience during our time here. I believe that with the right representation, we can create a better environment for learning, growth, and career opportunities.

Although I’m new to my role as the Student Rep for Senior Honours Economics, I’ve held several leadership positions that have prepared me to be your School Rep. As the President of the FinTech Society and founder of the Crypto Club, AI Society, and Cannabis Society, I’ve learned how to bring students together, listen to their concerns, and advocate for change. These experiences taught me the importance of clear communication and teamwork, as well as how to build a strong community.

As School Rep, I’ll focus on improving communication between students and staff, making sure your voices are heard. I’ll also work to enhance academic support and organise more career-focused events, like networking opportunities and workshops with industry professionals, to help prepare you for life after university.

Let’s work together to make the Adam Smith Business School a place where we all thrive!

Yan Song

Hello~

My name is Yan Song, you are welcome to call me Gwen, and I am running for the position of Business School Representative. Last year, I had the privilege of serving as a representative at Glasgow International College, where I worked closely with students and faculty to improve communication and address key issues, for example, I participated in EDI conferences organized by several colleges, and I have received some SRC training on rep during that time. This experience has strengthened my leadership and problem-solving skills, and it inspired me to continue advocating for our student body.

If elected, I will:

  • Actively liaise with Class Representatives to ensure that student concerns are brought to Staff Student Liaison Committee meetings.
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and College Convenors to promote a cohesive academic environment.
  • Ensure student voices are well-represented in Council meetings and relevant academic committees.
  • Work towards creating a constructive academic atmosphere where every student's academic challenges are addressed effectively.

I believe in transparency, collaboration, and making sure every student feels represented. I would be honored to have your support in continuing to make our school a better place for everyone.

Thank you!
