Being the SRC environmental Officer in the last year has allowed me to get a deeper insight of the University’s sustainable practices and goals. I was able to raise issues with the lapses in policies in regards to student experience and wellbeing. I would love to continue my work and see some of the policies come into practice, that I have been involved in.
I will continue to push for the University to divest from the arms industry.
I will continue to work towards pushing the University to implement stronger policies around sustainability and ethics especially when it comes to research practices in Engineering and Life Sciences.
I will continue to push for more sanctuary scholarships and financial assistance for students in Palestine.
I will continue to push for the SRC to facilitate more active dialogue between senior management and the student groups on campus.
