Julia Stephen

Why me again?
I’m Julia Stephen, a second year Molecular and Cellular Biology student with a passion for student advocacy and inclusive change. From being a class rep during my first year, to holding the School Representative post for the past months, I’ve consistently worked to make student voices heard.
In addition to my enthusiasm, outward personality, and communication skills, I want to bring a grounded perspective to school representation. As an international student who commutes and balances a part-time job, I understand the realities many of us face. I want our school to reflect and support the diversity of its students, not just in words, but in action.
What I stand for:
Employability
Many students in our school feel uncertain about life after graduation. I’ll push for more career-focused events, panels, and networking opportunities tailored to molecular biosciences.
Clear and Inclusive Communication
I want to ensure that important policies, and expectations are conveyed in ways that consider the varied circumstances and backgrounds of our students.
Amplifying Student Voices
I believe the best change comes from listening, and I am persistent in challenging issues I believe are unfair, particularly when advocating for those I represent.
