Julia Stephen Yataco

Why me?
I’m Julia Stephen, a second year Molecular and Cellular Biology student with a passion for student advocacy and inclusive change. From leading my high school council to serving as a class rep throughout my first year at university, I’ve consistently worked to make student voices heard.
In addition to my enthusiasm, outward personality, and communication skills, I want to bring a grounded perspective to school representation. As an international student who commutes and balances a part-time job, I understand the realities many of us face. I want our school to reflect and support the diversity of its students, not just in words, but in action.
What I stand for:
Employability
Many students in our school feel uncertain about life after graduation. I’ll push for more career-focused events, panels, and networking opportunities tailored to molecular biosciences.
Inclusion
Too many university events are inaccessible to students with long commutes, caring responsibilities, or work schedules. I’ll advocate for better timing, hybrid formats, and wider access to opportunities.
Amplifying Student Voices
I believe the best change comes from listening. I’m eager to hear what you want to see improved, and I’ll work hard to make those voices count.
