About

Glasgow University Music Club is the oldest music society on campus and we welcome anyone who loves to play music!

Founded in 1954, Glasgow University Music Club is the oldest music society on campus and we welcome anyone who loves music!

There are no auditions as we want to spread the love and appreciation of music. We play various concerts throughout the year and have amazing socials each semester. We also have plenty of smaller individual performance opportunities, such as our iconic Open Mic Nights.

GUMC is currently running nine groups: wind band, flute choir, brass ensemble, choir, chamber choir, saxophone ensemble, piping group, percussion ensemble, and composition group. We play across vast range of musical styles, such as pop, jazz, film music, classical, and songs from the musicals.

If you are keen on a laid back environment to be involved musically, you are more than welcome to come along! Please check out our social media pages and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
