About

Japan Society at the University of Glasgow was founded in 1997. Join us at our traditional events like Japan food fayre, movie nights and pub nights to appreciate Japan, its culture and make friends!

Our society's goal is to make you feel welcome and valued. This is why we run regular events like our popular weekly pub nights, language workshops, movie nights, food fayre, and various cultural events! Details of our forthcoming events will be posted on our Facebook group and Instagram page. We are open to both Japanese and non-Japanese with the hope that through our events and meeting new people. Our society will help you to enjoy, gain insights and form a deeper interest into Japanese culture.

Membership of the society is open to everyone (student/staff/public) and is £5 per year, which gives you discount entry to events. To join, just come along to the next society event. We'd love to welcome you to our family!

The society also runs a mailing list, which sends out the latest information and reminders of events. If you want to be added to this list, please let us know!

Japanese Movie Night
23rd October 6:45pm - 8:45pm
42 Bute Gardens Adam Smith Building 718
Join us this Wednesday to watch the Japanese film - Kamikaze Girls Start popping in from 6:30pm and the film will start at 6:45pm . After the movie we will be heading to Innis & Gunn for a pint around 9pm🍻
