About

Glasgow University’s only society dedicated to improvised Jazz Music!

The Glasgow University Jazz Society is a student run group dedicated to all things Jazz!

We run multiple events a week and offer opportunities for education, performance, and socials. All skill levels are welcome, and are catered for, from our beginner aimed Student Run Workshops to our Semesterly Masterclasses hosted by proffessional talents. We offer spaces for budding improvisers to play in both low stakes and high stakes environments, at our casual weekly Thursday Jam Sessions as well as our new QMU Jam Sessions - hosted bi-weekly on a tuesday night!

Anyone is welcome to attend our Jam sessions, you don't have to be a member!

Membership does have its benefits though! You can:

- Join our private Members Messenger Chat

- Be selected to play paid gigs

- Have first priority for our Jazz Masterclasses hosted by professional talents from all over Scotland

- Have access to our bi-weekly student-led Monday Workshops

- Nominate you favourite album for Album of the Month

- Access our spotify playlist, filled with hidden gems

The best way to know what we're up to is to follow the Socials - follow us on instagram, our facebook page, and join our public facebook group to find out more...
