Our aim is to raise awareness and tackle inequalities in global health.
Students for Global Health Glasgow is affiliated with the student-led national organisation Students for Global Health UK. The society aims to bring together students from a wide range of disciplines who are passionate about global health and interested in exploring how health is shaped by politics, economics, the environment, and society.
All students are welcome and no prior experience is required! We aim to provide members with opportunities to develop transferable skills beyond their degrees, including advocacy, stakeholder engagement, campaigning, and policy communication. Through workshops and events led by SfGH staff and external speakers, students will gain insight into how research can be translated into policy and meaningful real-world impact.
Members will also have opportunities to attend conferences hosted by other SfGH branches and wider global health organisations, helping students connect with like-minded peers and professionals across the UK. In the future, SfGH Glasgow also hopes to host its own conference featuring guest speakers, student research presentations, and discussions on global health topics students are passionate about.
