About

Glasgow University Politics Society is an independent student-run organisation which aims to create a social network for students studying or interested in politics.

We’re the UofG student society for all things politics. Whether you're a political pro, a student, or just curious, we're the place for you! Polsoc provides the opportunity to discuss politics, learn from academics, and meet like-minded friends who share your interests.
As a non-partisan society we do not promote any party positions and we’re welcome to beliefs across the political spectrum.

We run 2 events every week during term time.
Times and locations vary for both events weekly, so be sure to follow this instagram or become a member to stay up to date.

Pints & Politics!
Every Tuesday we welcome a different academic speaker from the uni to discuss and take questions on any political topic of their choice
in a pub to allow to relax with a pint of your choice (alcoholic or not)
interesting, comfortable & low key way of engaging with politics
Previous P&P topics include:
Scotland, USA, 2024, Sport, Pop Culture, Feminism, Immigration, the War on Drugs, Social Policy in a time of backlash, Germany, Beer, Inequality, Pop music, Populism

Weekly Socials!
Our weekly Thursday socials give members the chance to take a break from studies, unwind and meet new people with your interests
These events do not require any political expertise, so come as you are and bring your friends!
Previous events included:
Annual freshers sub-crawl, drunk debates (not political just daft), black ties and board games/billiards, Where’s Wally pub crawl, pub quiz, joint events with SPS societies
