Pride in Healthcare

The Pride in Healthcare Society aims to challenge the cis-heternomative curriculum and encourage LGBTQ+ healthcare teaching, as well as advocate for LGBTQ+ patients and tackling health inequalities.

We strive to create a safe place for LGBTQ+ medical/nursing/dentistry students. Running multiple social events ranging from coffee shop meet-ups, pub quizzes, karaoke nights, as well as nights out to Polo! Everyone is welcome.

Educational events have included talks from ‘Live Through This’, a charity for LGBTQ+ people with cancer, Trans health workshops, LGBTQ+ history talks, HIV/AIDs education, and work with the LUNA project about disability and queerness.

Membership options:

• Standard Membership - for current UofG students
• Associate Membership - for non-UofG students (e.g. students of other universities, staff, and members of the public)
• Donation Membership - for both UofG and non-UofG students who want to donate to help the running of society events etc.
