What Do We Do?
Glasgow University Big Band is a student run jazz big band who play all styles of music, from classical big band sounds to funk, Latin and pop, as well as film music, blues and soul. The band plays several gigs throughout the year, including University, public and private events. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings in the Concert Hall, with a sociable drink at the pub afterwards of course! 

Who Can Join?
We welcome all abilities of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, guitars, bass, drums, and piano, and we will never audition instrumentalists. Those who play an instrument different to those listed are welcome to speak to us, too. We are also open to vocalists but audition for these spots as logistically we can unfortunately only accommodate a few.

In addition to the classic committee roles we also have student musical directors and offer opportunities for conducting.
