The Glasgow University Acute Internal Medicine Society (GUAIMS) is as student-run society aimed at all students interested in acute internal medicine. We run educational and social events as well as skills workshops covering a wide range of medical disciplines.
What is Acute Internal Medicine?
Acute internal medicine (AIM) involves the assessment, investigation, diagnosis and management of patients with conditions that have developed quickly, exhibit severe symptoms, and may be life-threatening. A broad knowledge of medicine combine with detective work make this a challenging and interesting specialty.
