About

Glasgow University A cappella society is a relaxed, diverse and inclusive society where singers can come together to have fun and make music using just their voices!

Glasgow University A cappella society (GUAS) consists of two groups, our big non-competitive group and our small competitive group!

Our “Big Group” is a super friendly non-audition choir that performs at all GUAS events - such as annual Christmas and summer concerts where we show off what songs we’ve been working on throughout the year. Big Group has also had the opportunity to perform at the non-competitive Scottish acappella showcase in Edinburgh, charity fundraising events and as interval acts for other societies performances!

Secondly we have a smaller competitive group named Kelvingroove, a subsection of our big group that performs at the annual Scottish A cappella Championships. This group involves an audition and an extra rehearsal each week and is a great opportunity to compete against other groups (whilst still having fun).

Our Big Group meets up every Monday 6:30-8pm. DM us on instagram (@guniacappella) or email us (guniacappella@gmail.com) to be added to our WhatsApp group for location details! We are always accepting new members :)

There is a place for everyone at GUAS, whether you’ve been singing your whole life or just want to try something new. We’d love to welcome you!
