SODA (Society of Outdoor Arts) is a social and creative society for anyone who enjoys making art, exploring new places and spending time outdoors with other people. We want to take art beyond the traditional studio and create opportunities for students to sketch, paint and experiment with different creative mediums amongst nature and everyday life around us.
Our activities will include relaxed outdoor sketching/ watercolour sessions, botanical and urban drawing and trips to places around and outside of Glasgow. We also hope to collaborate with other societies to combine creative activities with other interests, such as wild swim trips.
SODA is welcoming and informal with no requirement for previous artistic experience. Whether you sketch on the regular, you haven’t picked up a pencil since school or you just want an excuse to explore somewhere new and meet people... everyone is welcome. The focus is enjoying the scenery, chats and creating art!
