Jet Lag Society

Glasgow University Jet Lag society is a fan society for the online show Jet Lag: The Game, where contestants take household games such as Tag, Hide & Seek and Connect Four, and play them across large areas such as entire countries or continents.

In GU Jet Lag, we take these games and adapt them for Glasgow and the wider region & country as well as develop our own games, inspired the ones featured on the show. Playing in these games is a unique way to travel around the region, getting outside and completing bizarre challenges overcoming situations you would never otherwise be in.

The society is also a space to discuss the show, watch it together, and is a unique community of people at the intersection of gaming, transport and outdoor activities (among other things).
The society runs game planning meetings, watch parties or socials every Wednesday during term time and has multiple games a month. All our upcoming games and socials are listed out on our Termcard.

Membership

We have three different membership types:

• Full Member (£0): For all UofG students, receive our monthly newsletter, gain voting rights at our meetings and be allowed to run for committee. Also have priority at games.
• Associate Member (£0): Similar to Full Member, but for non-UofG students. Associate Members do not have voting rights and cannot run for committee.
• Frequent Flyer Pass (£5 per year): Available to anybody, including non-students, Frequent Flyer Members are not required to pay any game fees for our games. You are also automatically treated as a Full or Associate member, depending on if you're a student at UofG or not.

Games

We run multiple games a month, that are listed out on our termcard. Games generally have a £1 game fee (except for Frequent Flyer Members). Event pages for our games will appear at the bottom of this page, a few weeks before. There you can find the full details and sign up to play.

Get Involved

If you're a Jet Lag super fan, or have really enjoyed one of our events, don't hesitate to join our Discord. This is our main way for society communication, and were most of our game planning and discussion takes place, between games and socials.
