Tech Law Society

Understanding technology isn’t optional for future lawyers. The Tech Law Society is a student-led community focused on exploring the growing intersection between law and technology. As technology continues to reshape legal practice, digital awareness is becoming an essential skill for aspiring lawyers.

We raise awareness of how law firms are adopting emerging technological tools such as AI, while exploring key practice areas including data protection and cybersecurity law. Through guest speakers, networking events, and collaborations with other law and technology societies at the University of Glasgow, members gain an interdisciplinary perspective and direct insight into how technology is used across different practice areas.

Our society aims to enhance members’ commercial awareness and digital literacy, skills increasingly important for standing out to law firms and future employers. Alongside panels and networking events, we also host fun socials, from casual meet ups to themed events, so members can connect, make friends, and enjoy university life while exploring tech law.

The Tech Law Society welcomes anyone curious about how technology is shaping the legal profession, regardless of prior knowledge or experience.
