We're an academic surgical society dedicated to trauma, orthopaedics and sports medicine. We're all passionate about orthopaedic surgery and its many subspecialties, and we want to share that enthusiasm with other students.
Our aim is to shine a light on the less-represented corners of orthopaedics and help students build connections that will support their future careers. Working in a joint effort (pun very much intended) with orthopaedic surgeons across Scotland, we run workshops, talks and other educational events throughout the year.
Two key events to look out for will firstly be our Scottish International Orthopaedics Conference, a collaboration between GUTOSM, EUTOS, THOR, and Dundee SMO, taking place Saturday 20th February 2027 at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Quincentenary Conference Centre, and secondly, our individual conference which will be held at the School of Anatomy, Thomson building.
