There's plenty happening across campus this semester, and we'd love to see clubs and societies getting involved!
Throughout the year, the SRC runs campaigns celebrating our student communities, raising awareness of important issues and supporting student wellbeing.
Clubs and societies have a huge role to play in making these campaigns a success. Whether it's hosting an event, collaborating with other societies or helping to spread the word, there are lots of ways to take part.
Here's what's coming up in Semester 1!
Black History Month | October 2026

This year's Black History Month theme is Honouring Our Communities, celebrating the contributions, experiences and achievements of Black communities at Glasgow and beyond.
Throughout October, we're working with students and societies to deliver events, activities and opportunities to learn, celebrate and connect.
How can your society get involved?
Host an event, collaborate with another society, or help promote activities taking place throughout the month. If you're organising something for Black History Month, get in touch with the Clubs & Societies team to find out how we can help promote it.

Halloween at The Hunterian | 30 October 2026

This Halloween, the SRC and The Hunterian are bringing ghosts, ghouls and Glasgow folklore to the Hunterian Museum for a night inspired by some of the city's spookiest stories and legends.
Expect a haunted disco, freaky fairground games, ghostly drinks and snacks, a costume competition and plenty more throughout the night.
How can your society get involved?
We're keen to hear from societies interested in getting involved, whether that's contributing to the event, collaborating on an activity or simply helping to spread the word.
If your society has an idea for how you'd like to take part, get in touch with the Clubs & Societies team to discuss what's possible.
Keep an eye on the SRC website, app and social media channels for full event details and tickets.
Disability History Month | 19 November – 19 December

Disability History Month is an opportunity to celebrate disabled people's contributions, explore disability history and raise awareness of the barriers disabled people continue to face.
This year's campaign will explore the theme of Democracy and Politics, with opportunities for students and societies to take part in discussions, activities and events.
How can your society get involved?
Consider organising an accessible event, collaborating with disability-focused groups or exploring disability representation and accessibility within your society's activities.
If you've got an idea for an event or collaboration, we'd love to hear from you!

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence | 25 November – 10 December

The 16 Days of Activism is an international campaign raising awareness of gender-based violence and encouraging action to challenge it.
The SRC will be supporting the campaign through activities that encourage students to learn more about gender-based violence, challenge harmful attitudes and show solidarity with those affected.
How can your society get involved?
Societies can help raise awareness, share campaign information, collaborate on activities or get involved in events taking place during the campaign.
Whether your society focuses on activism, wellbeing, culture or something completely different, there's an opportunity to support the campaign.

Winter De-stress | 30 November – 19 December

As deadlines and exams approach, Winter De-stress is all about helping students take a break, look after their wellbeing and connect with others.
The SRC will be bringing together activities and opportunities to help students unwind during one of the busiest periods of the academic year.
How can your society get involved?
We're always keen to hear from societies interested in running activities, workshops or social events as part of De-stress.
From creative workshops and games to relaxation sessions and opportunities to try something new, there's plenty of scope to get involved.

Have an Idea? Get in Touch!

Getting involved in an SRC campaign is a great opportunity to collaborate with other students, reach new audiences and make a positive contribution to campus life.
You don't need to organise a big event to take part. Sharing campaign messages, hosting a small activity or collaborating with another society can all make a difference.
If your club or society has an idea for an event or activity, contact the Clubs & Societies team to discuss how we can support you.
