It's here! It’s back! It’s better than Ever!!
UofG Nerd Collab Presents: The Ceilidh
Thursday, 16 January 2025 18:00 until 22:00
QMU Venue
The Nerd Collab is back with all your favourite societies to bring you the biggest NerdSoc event of the year, the Ceilidh!
The NerdCollab is a group of societies focused on (stereotypically) 'nerdy' hobbies, from Minecraft to Tabletop Gaming, Anime and Manga to Cubing, we have it all!
Event Information
Venue: QMU Venue (Ground Floor, right of main entrance)
QMU has a permanent ramp and wide double doors at the main entrance. More information found here:
https://www.accessable.co.uk/university-of-glasgow/access-guides/queen-margaret-union
Time: Doors at 6:00pm
Ceilidh planned to start at 6:30pm. There will be a 30 minute break during the night where the raffle drawing will take place.
Tickets: Tickets are £4.40 and available on the SRC website. This year we are also offering a £15 ticket as an optional donation to the Collab, to help us make some money back from the events we've ran so far. People who buy this ticket will receive a custom designed physical ticket on the night as a memoir of the evening!
We have to limit the numbers, so there'll be no entry without a ticket bought in advance. And please be quick as they're likely to sell out based on our previous events!
If you are not able to afford this ticket price and would like to come to the event please don't be discouraged. Send a message to a committee member and we'll try get you sorted!
Charity Raffle: We will be hosting a raffle with a prize from each society involved. Tickets will be £1 per strip of five, cash preferred but card accepted! All money made will be split between our chosen charities.
Dress Code: Dress to impress! Kilts, dresses, suits or whatever your heart desires and frankly we’d love you even if you showed up in a clown suit
The Band: UofG TradSoc will be your band for the evening, they'll be walking through all the dance so even if you've never ceilidh before, this is the best place to try it out, and remember, its all for fun anyway, you certainly don't need to be an amazing dancer to take part in a ceilidh.

We really look forward to having you at this event, and hope you are excited for what's sure to be an amazing night!
