AI-First Startups Hackathon
Step into the future of entrepreneurship at the AI-First Startups Hackathon, proudly hosted by the Startup Unicorn Club and sponsored by the Student & Graduate Enterprise Hub.
Taking place on Friday, June 12th, this immersive one-day event is designed for all UofG students - whether you are a seasoned founder or completely new to the tech space. Our goal is simple: to empower you with highly employable AI skills and challenge you to solve real-world problems for local Scottish businesses.
You will learn how to leverage powerful tools, collaborate in dynamic teams, and build functional, vibe-coded solutions in just a few hours. The day culminates in a live pitch to our expert panel of industry judges, providing incredible visibility and hands-on experience.
Event Schedule

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-on AI workshop and presentation of the local business challenges and startup opportunities.

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Hacking phase! Students work in groups to build their vibe-coded AI solutions.

3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Pitch time! Teams present their final solutions and answer questions from the judging panel.

4:45 PM – 5:00 PM: Awards ceremony and the official announcement of our top three winners.

5:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Speed networking with industry leaders, mentors, and peers, followed by the event conclusion.
