We invite you to our first event of the 2025/2026 academic year!
Join us at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum at 3PM on the 18th of September as we explore the wonders of the world right on UofG's doorstep! (It's a 10-minute walk from the JMS!) Afterwards, we will be moving to the Record Factory for a well-deserved pint, or diluted juice since it's a school night, and unwind!
The committee will gather at a designated place (to be confirmed-keep an eye on our Instagram: uofg_eshsociety), ready to meet you, and we will explore the art gallery & museum together! This will be a very laid-back experience, so please don't feel anxious! The museum is physically accessible (ramps, lifts) and offers sensory packs to those who may find it overwhelming! If you need any more information about this, please DM us on our Instagram profile, and we will be more than happy to help you!
This is a great opportunity to relax, make friends, and talk about history as the semester begins! It is also free entry to the museum, and you have the option to pay for your own drinks at the Record Factory!
If you feel up to it, we will be heading to the Record Factory on Byres Road at 5PM for a more casual gathering. Please note: If you do not drink, or do not want to drink, you are still more than welcome to join! You are under no pressure to consume alcohol! Some members of our committee will be sober, so you will not be alone! The Record Factory is also accessible!
We can't wait to see you and share our love for Economic & Social History! See you then!
