Overview

Are you a student carer at the University of Glasgow? Fancy earning yourself a £10 Amazon voucher whilst contributing to real change at the University?

The Students' Representative Council are looking for volunteers for a series of focus groups taking place next week, so that we can gather insight into your experiences, and work towards improving the wellbeing of student carers on campus. These consultations, conducted by our VP Student Support, Hailie, are part of a wider review of the University’s Carers’ Policy, which is set to be reviewed and updated in conjunction with the University later in the academic year.

Who are student carers?

We use the Carers Trust definition: A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

Focus groups will take place on the following dates:

  • 3-4.30pm Wednesday 9th (online via zoom)
  • 1.30-3pm Thursday 10th (Williams Room, McIntyre Building)
  • 11-12.30pm Friday 11th (Williams Room, McIntyre Building)

All attendees will receive a £10 Amazon voucher and light refreshments will be provided at the in-person sessions.
