    • (Allergen information will be provided with the food but we cannot guarantee there will be no instance of cross contamination.)
  • Complimentary welcome drinks: Enjoy a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including Prosecco, Ginger Beer, assorted Juices, and Lemonade.
  • Captivating DJ set: Groove to the infectious rhythms of Africa and the Caribbean with DJ Nero, whose eclectic sets blend genres like Bouyon, Cadence-lypso, Jazz, Neo-Soul, Rock, and Rap – (Check out Nero's Dutchie show on Subcity Radio).
  • Powerful poetry readings: Be moved by insightful poetry from Iris Duane (VP Student Support - SRC) and a member of the African Caribbean Society.
  • A critical and decolonising perspective on the Hunterian collection: Led by Dr. Andy Mills, Curator of Archaeology and World Cultures, this insightful talk will explore the museum's collection through a critical lens, examining its historical context and the ongoing efforts towards repatriation.
  • Interactive Story Board: Express your creativity and contribute to a collaborative art piece that reflects the diverse experiences and perspectives of the Black community! Respond to thought-provoking prompts like "What does it look like to reclaim your narrative?" and "What does being black mean to you?".

This event is free and open to all students and staff. No tickets are required, but we encourage you to sign up for our Black History Month mailing list at glasgowunisrc.org/bhm to stay informed about upcoming events.
