Halloween at The Hunterian 2026 🎃🏰
A hauntingly good night awaits… 👻
This Halloween, step into the shadows of Gilmorehill for a night inspired by ghosts, ghouls and Glasgow folklore.
From the mysterious Grey Lady said to wander the campus, to tales of poltergeist activity in Pearce Lodge, Glasgow has no shortage of stories that blur the line between history and haunting.
Venture a little further into the city’s folklore and you’ll find vampires in the Gorbals 🧛🏻♂️, ghosts on Gibson Street 👻 and plenty more things that go bump in the night 🧟♂️.
For one night only, we’re bringing some of those legends to life inside The Hunterian, with a haunted disco, freaky fairground games, creepy cocktails and plenty of spooky surprises.
Whether you believe in ghosts or just fancy a frighteningly good night out, join us for Halloween at one of the University’s most atmospheric venues!

What to expect
- 👻 Ghosts of Gilmorehill: Discover some of the strange stories, supernatural sightings and local legends connected to the University and the surrounding area.
- 🎶 Haunted Disco: Dance among the dead as our DJ brings The Hunterian to life with a Halloween soundtrack guaranteed to wake the spirits.
- 🍹 Potions & Poison: Start the night with a complimentary themed welcome drink and some suitably spooky snacks.
- 🏆 Costume Competition: Ghost, ghoul, creature or cryptid, come dressed to impress (or terrify) for your chance to win a prize.
- 🎪 Freaky Fairground: Step right up for a twisted take on carnival classics, with spooky games including ring toss, mystery boxes and more!
- 📸 Paranormal Photo Booth: Capture evidence of your night among the spirits with Halloween props and backdrops inspired by Glasgow's ghostly legends.
- 😈 More Spooks and Surprises: Keep your eyes open. You never know what might be lurking around the next corner…
Come dressed for the occasion and prepare for a night where Glasgow’s ghouls and ghosts come out to play!
Tickets
This event is ticketed. Tickets cost £5 and will be available for purchase via the My SRC app or on this page.

Accessibility
This event will take place in The Hunterian Museum and the Kelvin Gallery on the 4th floor of the Gilbert Scott Building.
