Glasgow University Trauma Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Society's Surgical Portfolio Night!

HALLOWEEN EDITION

Thinking about a career in Trauma & Orthopaedics, or surgery in general? Or wondering what comes after Foundation Training? Whatever your plans, this is the night to start thinking about building your portfolio that won't come back to haunt you!

This year we are very proud to announce our first combined educational and social event taking place Wednesday 28th of October 7-10pm, a fantastic opportunity to get first-hand insight into the Core Surgical Training (CST) pathway as well as the Trauma & Orthopaedics Specialty Training (ST) pathway, both of which are highly competitive and beneficial to be aware of as early as possible in medical school.

Alternatively (or both), you can come along for a warm and welcoming evening where you can mingle with like-minded students who are simply curious about our specialty and what events our society will have to offer in the future, and meet our Honorary President and wonderful committee for this academic year.

And last but not least, take part in our Halloween costume competition! That's right, let's see your dress-up skills outside of academia! And of course you are most welcome to grab a drink (or few, responsibly of course) at the bar. The night will be rounded off by the speakers, committee members, and audience voting in which attendee has the best costume, so get creative, it's not a trick! And the winner will definitely be getting a treat! So come along and join us! We are looking forward to haunting the GUU Reading Room and seeing you there!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

There will be ongoing photography throughout the event which may be posted on our social media. Please let one of our committee members immediately know as soon as possible if you do not consent to having your photo taken nor having any pictures being publicly shared online, and we will ensure that we are doing our due diligence of maintaining your request for privacy.

The GUTOSM society operates with a zero-tolerance policy towards inappropriate or antisocial behaviour directed at the event staff, committee members, external guests and other students attending our Portfolio Night and at further events to come. As exciting as evening events are, safety will always be our number one priority. Individuals who make others feel unsafe will be reported to the SRC and barred from attending any future events for the whole year. Let's keep our environment both fun and safe!
