The Association of Women Surgeons Glasgow is delighted to bring back Battle of the Surgical Specialties for its 3rd year, hosted at the Glasgow University Union, Dining Room!
We'll be welcoming five consultant surgeons from different specialties, each taking to the stage to make the case for their own field. This year's line-up includes:
- Neurosurgery - Mr Roddy O'Kane
- Cardiothoracic surgery - Ms Jennifer Whiteley
- ENT surgery - Mr Paul Sooby
- Trauma and orthopaedics - Miss Samantha Downie
- General/ breast surgery - Miss Judith Reid
Each surgeon will deliver a brief presentation, sharing insights into their career path and the unique aspects of their specialty.
After the presentations, we’ll take a short break before diving into a Q&A panel, where you’ll have the chance to ask any burning questions and gain valuable advice.
This event is also an excellent opportunity to learn about our upcoming plans for the year, including future events and our upcoming surgical mentorship programme, as well as ways to get involved with the society!
We will wrap up the event with a casual drinks reception, giving you the perfect chance to network with the surgeons and fellow students.
