Overview

Want more students turning up to your club events? Looking for ways to attract new members, get funding for your ideas or make better use of social media?

Join us for our Events, Grants & Comms Workshop for club members — a practical session designed to help you get more out of your society’s events and activities.

Whether you’re planning your first event, trying to grow your membership or looking for fresh ideas to boost engagement, you’ll get practical tips, advice from SRC staff and the chance to share challenges and ideas with other student clubs.

The SRC will also provide food during the break, with dietary requirements catered for.

Workshop Schedule

  • 5:30–6pm — Event Planning Best Practices
Practical advice for organising successful events, including finance tips.
  • 6–6:30pm — SRC Grant Funding, Campaigns & Collaborations
Find out what funding and opportunities are available to your club and how to make the most of them.
  • 6:30–6:50pm — Food Break
Free food provided by the SRC (dietary needs catered for).
  • 6:50–7:20pm — Making the Best Use of Social Media

  • 7:20–8pm — Society Roundtable with SRC Staff & VPSA

If you are unable to attend for the full length of the workshop, we would still encourage you to attend for times you are available. Participation in this session will be added to your skills record. This workshop is being delivered by the Clubs & Societies and Communications Teams at the SRC.
