Join the Fundamental Society and the Glasgow University Badminton Club for an immersive, interactive experience: The Case of the Fallen Player, a murder mystery scavenger hunt that turns the familiar university grounds into a crime scene waiting to be solved.
The Story It was supposed to be a cheerful Movember Recreational Tournament — a fun, friendly evening celebrating sport and charity. But by the end of the night, the laughter had faded, and tragedy struck. At 9:15 PM, a passerby discovered a badminton player, known by teammates as Orange, lying unconscious near the Cloisters. Despite immediate help, Orange was later pronounced dead at the scene. The initial forensic report identified blunt force trauma as the cause of death. The evidence suggests a struggle, not premeditated violence. As investigators began to dig deeper, dark secrets within the Glasgow University Badminton Club began to surface - whispers of match-fixing, embezzlement, and hidden deals buried under layers of reputation and trust.
What few people knew was that Orange had been quietly investigating these rumours. In the weeks leading up to the tournament, they had been gathering evidence that could expose corruption at the heart of the club. And now, Orange is gone.
The question is: who wanted to silence them — and why?
Your Mission:
You and your team of detectives will step into Orange’s unfinished investigation, travelling across campus to uncover evidence, decode messages, and interrogate suspects.
Your goal:
Reconstruct the timeline of the night.
Examine clues hidden across eight themed “stations.”
Identify the culprit, their motive, and the events that led to Orange’s death.
Each station reveals a new layer of the story — from shady financial records and old disciplinary reports to secret voice messages and conflicting alibis. You’ll uncover details about four key figures, all connected to the badminton club and all hiding something.
Every clue will test your perception, reasoning, and teamwork — and not everyone’s story will add up.
