Join Fem Collab societies and the SRC for a powerful film and craft night that honours the strength and legacy of Black women who have stood firm in power and pride.
- We’ll gather to watch The Woman King (2022) — the groundbreaking film that brings to life the story of the Agojie, the fearless all-women warriors who protected the Kingdom of Dahomey.
- During the screening, we’ll design and build a no-sew Empowerment Quilt, a collective art piece where each square will celebrate a bold Black woman in history who has inspired change. From Wangarĩ Maathai to Lilian Bader, this quilt will be put on display to uplift the voices, stories, and resilience of Black women.
- We’ll also be serving West African snacks, including chin chin and plantain chips, so come ready to enjoy good food, community, and conversation.
Free to attend and all materials supplied. Capacity limited – first-come, first-serve.
