Overview

Fancy learning a Brazilian martial and cultural art which combines kicks,
spins, dance, acrobatics and music? Then come and try capoeira with the
Glasgow University Capoeira Club at our FREE taster session!

WHY CAPOEIRA?
Capoeira is a great way to exercise the body and mind. You will develop
your upper body, abdominal and lower body muscles. With regular
practice, capoeira will also increase your awareness, speed, agility and
flexibility. The acrobatic movements that you will learn will help improve
your balance and coordination. Practising and playing against an
opponent will improve your concentration and focus, and playing music
together will boost your sense of rhythm.

SOCIAL EVENTS
There is a strong social element to the G.U.C.C. with great nights out and
get-togethers throughout the year, as well as workshops and trips to visit
groups in other countries. Our club also has links with Capoeira schools
all over the UK, Europe & Brazil. So becoming a member of our
group means joining a truly international family!

NEVER TRIED SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE?
Don’t worry, no experience is necessary to give capoeira a go! However,
if you have previously tried dance, other martial arts, gymnastics or even
capoeira itself, we welcome your talents and experience! We like to
combine skills which has, in the past, included hip-hop and tango lessons
to help our capoeira training.
