Hydrogen Fuel Racing

The University of Glasgow's Hydrogen Fuel Racing (HFR) is a dynamic, student-led engineering society. We are dedicated to the innovation and development of hydrogen racing vehicles. We're the University of Glasgow's first hydrogen-based society as well as the first team to represent UofG at competition in MONACO in 2025!

We have three main aims:

•  Playing our part in the transitition to a net-zero future by supporting sustainability through shining a spotlight on the use of hydrogen as a clean energy source for transport.
• Building up our students by offering them an opportunity to gain hands on experience, preparing them for the professional world by providing opportunities to present, lead, work in cross-functional teams and work on real life engineering problems. 
• Playing our part in the community, participating in outreach - educating our youth about careers in STEM, and instilling a passion for engineering from a young age.

We have 3 main divisions :

𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 🛣️ (HFC powered car competing in the Shell Eco Marathon)

𝗦𝗲𝗮 🌊(sponsored HICE Boat competing in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge)

𝗔𝗶𝗿 🛫(conceptual H2 powered plane collaboration).

As well as Business Ops, who work to keep the society running smoothly. Bringing in funding through sponsorship and merch; running society socials and increasing awareness and presence on social media.
