Glasgow Oral Health Improvement Student Society (GOHISS) is a society run by dental students from the Glasgow Dental School.
Our society aim is to ‘keep Glasgow smiling’. We have volunteered at various events since the society’s creation in 2013, spreading positive oral health messages. We regularly attend foodbanks in Glasgow, donating oral health supplies and giving oral health advice. We have also visited schools - teaching children positive oral health messages - and universities around Glasgow - to encourage students to register with a dentist. We participate in other events whenever we can – for example in 2017 we got a world record for creating the world’s biggest smile, and this year we are participating in a COP26 satellite event talking about the importance of oral health.
