The Glasgow University Surgical Society (GUSS) is a proud organisation that encourages and facilitates undergraduate interest in surgery, while promoting an inclusive, innovative and sustainable future for surgical practice.
Through our monthly events, we offer our members the opportunity to explore the surgical subspecialties, regularly meet leading surgeons, revise key surgical learning objectives, develop practical surgical skills and take part in teaching. Alongside clinical education, we aim to raise awareness of environmentally sustainable surgical practice, encouraging students to consider how high-quality patient care can be delivered while reducing waste and the environmental impact of healthcare.
With years of hard work and the support of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG), our annual undergraduate conference has become a roaring success. We are delighted to support students at every stage of their training throughout the year - whether you're looking for a Dummies' Guide to Surgery, specific career-pathway advice, opportunities to develop your practical skills, or an introduction to the future of sustainable surgery, GUSS is here to help.
