Glasgow University Esports Society is THE place to be for all things esports and video game related.
The Glasgow Uni Esports Society is a place for people interested in any video games to find likeminded people to play and hang out with. We offer a place to play and talk about any games in our discord server, any and all ranks/skill level/experience/competetive or casual players are welcome! We also have regular in person socials ranging from pub crawls to laser tag! Once a year we have an in person LAN event called Battle for Glasgow, where we play in a tournament vs Caledonian and Strathclyde University to decide who's the best university for games in Glasgow!
Joining GUES also offers you the oppurtunity to represent the university in competetive esports leagues. Whilst the majority of the memebrs in the server play games casually, we offer the chance for competetive driven players to play in National Students Esports (NSE), which is the BUCS equivalent for esports, as well the National University Esports League (NUEL). We have several teams for most esports ranging from teams made up of new players looking to get into games and try out a competetive environment, all the way to teams that have all highest rank players and of course several in between. The main games we offer for these tournaments are CSGO, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Dota 2, Rocket League, Rainbow 6, MultiVersus, Smash Bros and more!
