About

Welcome to the University of Glasgow British Medical Association (BMA) Student Society. We are a society dedicated to increasing awareness of the British Medical Association (BMA) among medical students at the University of Glasgow. Our core mission is to represent the academic, professional, and welfare interests of our members. We achieve this through active engagement with the BMA Medical Students Committee (MSC), the University of Glasgow Medical School, and relevant NHS Health Boards.

Our society focuses on empowering students through a variety of educational events and resources. We host policy workshops, speaker panels, and placement-support sessions designed to help you contribute to BMA activities and navigate your medical degree. The Education & Events Pod also organises events like "Intro-to-BMA" nights for both pre-clinical and clinical students, motion-writing workshops, and placement advocacy initiatives.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative community for medical students across all years. To ensure all voices are heard, we have a Reps Council with representatives from each year group (MBChB Years 1-5) and for specific cohorts, including Graduate-Entry and Mature students. Membership is free and open to all registered MBChB students at the University of Glasgow. Please note that membership in our society is separate and does not confer membership of the national British Medical Association (BMA).
