About

Come and join us at our hands-on weekly teaching sessions where we cover not just the ABC’s but the A-E and beyond of managing medical emergencies, even before your clinical years!

Would you know how to help if you were the first person on scene to a road traffic accident? Do you know what you can do for the stabbing victim you find on a night out? When flight attendants ask for a medic to help a man with chest pain, would you offer yourself up? Let us help you be in the know.

Come and join us at our hands-on weekly teaching sessions where we cover not just the ABC’s but the A-E and beyond of managing medical emergencies, even before your clinical years!

Learn how to identify and manage pathology from extreme and austere environments like altitude & dive medicine, blistering heat & freezing cold, to the trials and tribulations of tropical disease and trauma care, to how to deliver a baby and major incident management. Our weekly sessions focus on teaching from senior students with input from area specialists, careers talks on expedition and wilderness medicine, all loaded with simulated patient scenarios to really hone your new skills!

Alongside our teaching sessions you can expect involvement with national wilderness medicine conferences and competitions such as the annual Wild Trials event. Your learning will be consolidated in a residential weekend of teaching, simulated patient scenarios and mass casualty situations in a top-secret wilderness location!
