Location

It is important to meet up in a safe space, in public.

Consider meeting up in the UofG Library, our Gilchrist Postgradute Café, the James McCune Smith Building, or even our Welcome Point in the McIntyre Building. It is important that you feel safe when meeting to handover books or money. Never meet up with someone you do not know in their flat, or in a location that is not easily accessible.

Money

Never hand over any form of payment before seeing the book you are buying. Make sure it is in an acceptable condition and is useable for the purpose you need it for.

If using online bank transfer for payment, we recommend using the sales option on PayPal for your transaction, this allows you to dispute your payment much easier if something was to happen.

Always make sure there is some form of documented exchange of goods for money, this can be as simple as a bank transaction statement, or a written piece of paper that is signed by both parties, this protects both buyer and seller in case of any disputes.

If you wish to report a seller to the Marketplace, we can consider removing the seller from the site. Please email us the details to bookshop@src.gla.ac.uk
