All funds from tickets are being donated directly to LGBT Youth Scotland and Weekday WOW Factor. Thank you for giving!
We will be meeting at 11:00am in Partick Station to catch the 9:35 to catch the 9:50am train to Balloch (we suggest purchasing an open return ticket). We expect to be back in Glasgow by 1pm latest, but you're of course free to stay at the loch as long as you like. Feel free to join from other stations or make your own way to Balloch.
We plan to walk through Balloch Country park before heading down to the beaches to swim. It will be cold! So please bring swim wear, plenty of dry warm layers (including hat, gloves, thick socks) and some good snacks. If you'd like to join us just to walk or aren't sure about swimming, please still grab a ticket and come along! You'll still be helping two great charities.
Please remember, wild swimming can be a dangerous activity, so it is up to you to make reasonable judgements about your physical health and ability to participate safely.
Feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions about the walk, what to expect on the day, what to bring etc. You can message us on Instagram (@guwalkingsociety) or email us (guwalkingsociety@gmail.com) and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
All attendees must follow the GUSRC Events Code of Conduct: https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/policies/events-conduct/. Look here for our Shoe Guide and Safety Policy.
Happy Hiking!
